This page contains links to three letters written by Private Laughlin McIntosh — two letters to his sister and one to his father.  There is also an inventory of effects when he died of disease in August of 1863 at a military hospital in Vicksburg, Miss.  Laughlin McIntosh was the younger brother of John McIntosh whose letters appear on a separate page.  Laughlin enlisted in the 78th OVI at age 20 on December 27, 1861 (the same day as his brother John enlisted) and served in Co I until his death.

Virginia K. Charlton, the great-grandaughter of Catherine (Cate) McIntosh, the older sister of the McIntosh brothers, has also contributed an information sheet that contains additional information on the brothers and their letters.
